Phone QR code questions
What happens when someone scans a phone QR code?
The code encodes a tel: link. The phone shows a prompt to dial the number — one tap and the call screen opens with the number already filled in. Nothing is dialed automatically; the person always confirms first.
Should I include the country code?
Yes, if anyone outside your country might scan it. Use the full international format like +1 555 123 4567 (or +44 20 7946 0000 for the UK). If the code will only ever be scanned locally, the domestic format works too.
Does the code expire?
No. This is a static code: the number is baked into the pattern itself, so it works forever, needs no account, and never expires. If the number changes, generate a new code — you cannot edit a static one after printing.
