Location QR code questions
What opens when the code is scanned?
The code encodes a geo: link like geo:40.7128,-74.0060. The phone asks which map app to use, then opens it centered on those coordinates — Google Maps, Apple Maps, or whatever is installed.
How do I find my coordinates?
In Google Maps, long-press your spot on the map and the coordinates appear in the search bar. On desktop, right-click a location and they are shown at the top of the menu. Paste them here in decimal degrees.
Why use coordinates instead of a street address?
A coordinate pin is exact. Addresses mislead in the countryside, inside large venues, or anywhere numbering is irregular — a festival field, a dock entrance, or a building with multiple doors.
